2010 Star Western Hemisphere Sailing Championships to open: Sir Durwood to compete in Harry Knowles Regatta

Nassau, Bahamas - The Bahamas Weekly News Team was on the road again recently and visited with Bahamas sailing legend, Sir Durwood Knowles.

Listen as Paul Hutton-Ashkenny, Co-Chair of the upcoming Star Western Hemisphere Sailing Championships speaks about the event which is set for Nassau from April 10th to 17th and will open with the Harry Knowles Regatta on Tuesday.
35 boats are already registered for the international championships which has been in The Bahamas previously in 2005. The Star Class is the top class in sailing and many of those participating will be using this competition as a warm up to the Olympics.

The exciting news is that Bahamas grandfather of sailing, Sir Durwood Knowles will participate and sail one more time as a competitor at the age of 92 years!


Competing for The Bahamas in the Star Western Hemisphere will be the team of Mark Holowesko and Billy Holowesko.
